J-Quiz is one of JASM’s signature annual events, designed to help you learn more about Japan in a fun and engaging way. Rather than focusing on competition, each question offers background and insights into Japanese culture, history, and language.
This year’s special edition features questions inspired by Naruto, showing how anime can connect us to real Japanese traditions and ideas. Join us to explore, discover, and enjoy learning more about Japan together!
J-Quiz is one of the signature annual events hosted by the Japan America Society of Minnesota (JASM) each February. At its heart, this program is not about competition, but about discovery. Each question is designed to open a window into Japanese culture, history, and language. Rather than focusing only on correct answers, J-Quiz provides background stories and context, so participants can walk away with new knowledge and deeper appreciation of Japan.
For the Anime Wonder 2025, we are presenting a special edition of J-Quiz with questions inspired by the beloved anime series Naruto. By weaving cultural themes, traditions, and even current events into the quiz format, we hope participants will see how Japanese culture extends far beyond the screen. Anime can serve as a bridge to spark curiosity and interest in learning more about Japan, and this special edition is designed to build on that excitement.
Our wish is that J-Quiz inspires you to keep exploring—whether it’s learning a few words of Japanese, attending cultural events, or simply appreciating the connections between stories and the real-world culture they reflect. We warmly invite you to join us for this engaging, fun, and educational experience, and discover how much there is to learn about Japan together. And tell your mom and dad you were not wasting your time watching "cartoons".
